Public disturbance and DUI

Amy Ficae, 43, of Fairfield, was arrested for driving under the influence and for creating a public disturbance. Ficae was in her car in the parking lot of McKinley Elementary School where numerous elementary school age children were holding a car wash. Ficae got out of her car and in plain view of the children she urinated.

An adult had previously gone over to her car and found a strong smell of alcohol on Ficae’s breath and that she appeared to be somewhat passed out. They called police who found the woman in her vehicle with the keys in the ignition. She failed three roadside sobriety tests and was taken to headquarters. Ficae was given $250 bond and a court date of May 24.

Drunk driving charge

Keegan Miles, 18, of Southport, was charged with driving under the influence and with failure to drive right.

Miles was traveling south on Daybreak Road at about 4:16 a.m. on March 19, when he veered off to the left and hit a tree located on the front lawn of 21 Daybreak. When officers found him, his eyes were red and glassy and he admitted to having drunk 5 or 6 beers. He failed a roadside sobriety test and was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital. Later, on April 4, police issued a warrant for Miles medical records and on Friday, they arrested him. Miles was released on a $100 bond and has a court date of May 24.

Man charged with domestic violence

Michael K. Kelly, 42, of Brooklawn Terrace, was charged with disorderly conduct. On Sunday shortly before 7:22 p.m., he was having an argument with his wife in front of their four children, when he grabbed her T-shirt and held onto it in an aggressive manner, while yelling at her. When officers arrived, they found Kelly trying to back out of his driveway and stopped him. He was told not to go back to the house or have any further contact with the victim until after his court date of Monday morning.

Burglary attempt

Gaudencio Ramirez, 24, of Fairfield, was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary, with criminal trespassing in the third degree and with interfering with an officer. At 3 a.m. on Sunday, he climbed over a chain with a No Trespassing sign hung on it, entered the property, despite numerous signs that said No Trespassing, and attempted to open the door of a trailer in which the owner was sleeping. The owner was awakened by an alarm and went outside to see an Hispanic male, Ramirez, pulling on the door. When police came, Ramirez was hiding behind a tractor. He was released on $400 bond ad has a court date of May 24.
